Analyst (m/f/d) in the field of Sustainable Finance (part-time/full-time) – Berlin, München

Job summary

As an Analyst/Consultant in adelphi’s Finance Programme, you support International Financial Institutions and commercial banks in Europe and internationally in the successful implementation of sustainable finance strategies and programmes. Such strategies and programmes may concern, for example, credit lines for energy efficiency or renewable energy financing, financing facilities that support clean-tech or biodiversity investments, financial constructs focussing on resource efficiency or circular economy or climate action plans.

Your tasks

  • You support our team in developing sustainable finance processes and tools, financial products, sustainable project and loan pipelines as well as market assessments 
  • You conduct research on the latest developments in the financial sector, e.g. regarding sustainable finance policies and Environmental & Social Risk Management tools, and help us develop actionable recommendations for financial institutions and policy makers 
  • You develop concepts for innovative, participatory workshop materials and toolkits as well as training programmes, activities, and plans
  • You prepare, manage and follow-up on trainings and workshops
  • You collaborate with stakeholders of sustainable finance in our target countries (e.g. financial institutions, policy makers, research institutions etc.)
  • Based on your research, writing and design skills you develop visually appealing publications, case studies, and promotional materials
Further, as a colleague in our Finance team, you contribute to the strategic orientation and development of our sustainable finance services; you help write successful proposals and participate in other business development activities.

What we are looking for:


Key qualifications:
  • A university degree (or similar qualification) in finance/economics/business (or similar) with a focus on sustainability and an interest in related technologies and investment projects OR a university degree (or similar qualification) in engineering/environmental technologies (or similar) with additional qualification/experience in finance/business
  • Commitment to and sincere interest in sustainable finance; high motivation to advance national and international sustainable finance agendas in direct collaboration with international and national financial institutions; good overview of recent sustainable finance trends and initiatives
  • A solution-, client-, and quality-oriented approach to work
  • Very good planning and coordination skills that help you to manage your projects efficiently
  • Creative team-player with strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as attention to detail
  • Confident and friendly appearance in dealing with cooperation partners and clients; open and engaging communication style and great interpersonal skills
  • Interest in a long-term collaboration in a dynamically working and growing team
  • Excellent oral and written expression in English
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
      Desired:
      • Relevant professional experience in the finance/banking sector
      • Willingness to occasionally travel to project countries for short-term stays
      • Excellent oral and written expression in German or French, additional foreign language skills (e.g. Spanish) are an advantage.
