Job summary
As a Full-Stack Developer in adelphi’s Sustainable Finance programme, your role is to support the team in the set-up, enhancement and running of web tools for international financial institutions and financial intermediaries such as commercial banks. You work closely with a small team of experts on the successful development and implementation of digital tools that support sustainable finance strategies and the disbursement of green credit lines / financing instruments.
This particular role will focus on web applications in the area of adapting to climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across Europe. The position presents a unique opportunity to use your IT / technical expertise in web technologies to help achieve the European Union’s climate and environmental objectives.
The successful candidate will quickly take on responsibility and leadership for individual tool components and will be part of a growing, agile-working and impact-oriented team.

Your tasks
- You contribute to and understand the architecture and structure of web app projects and use your IT / technical expertise to develop web applications based on Python and JavaScript Frameworks.
- You contribute your technical expertise to project concepts and bring in innovative ideas.
- You shape the optimal approach towards data management, system integration, and interface design, making use of your wide knowledge of the overall architecture of modern web solutions.
- You understand customer requirements and translate them into code, i.e. you establish a good interplay between frontend and backend.
- You communicate effectively on user requirements and possible solutions, including with non-IT stakeholders such as clients and non-IT colleagues.
- You think ahead and align your actions accordingly.
Your qualifications
- You have 3-5 years of experience working in an IT environment (e.g. in the role of Full Stack Developer, DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect) or at the intersection of IT and customer relations (e.g. in the role of Product Owner)
- You have in-depth knowledge in the implementation of web projects based on Python. You also like to use your knowledge for architecture decisions and know common web technologies like Javascript and Typescript, as well as corresponding web frameworks like ideally VueJS, or alternatively Svelte, Angular or React
- You are familiar with Django in combination with Python and have already successfully implemented related projects. Alternatively, you already have experience with Flask or FastAPI projects and would like to develop also in the direction of Django
- You have already implemented REST or GraphQL based APIs. Standardization of these interfaces (e.g. OpenAPI) are the basis of good quality for you
- You have experience with databases and other typical third-party systems (e.g. PostgreSQL or MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis)
- You work with code reviews and merge requests, because quality is important to you
- You are enthusiastic about new technologies and also like to work independently on these
- You have the desire to contribute independently and self-directedly in a highly innovative and fast-paced international environment
- You pro-actively discuss your ideas on client requirements and potential solutions with the project team (IT and non-IT), and are happy to lead the way from conception over development to deployment
- You are able to contribute to SCRUM projects as an active project member
- You are fluent in English and ideally also in German
Your tech stack includes:
- Python and Django or alternatively Flask
- TypeScript / JavaScript and VueJS or alternatively React, Svelte or Angular
- You are familiar with modern software development (e.g. Clean Code, TDD, architecture principles)
- Testing is a matter of course for you
- Your projects build automatically in a CI/CD pipeline
- You feel comfortable in the console and can handle bash/zsh/...as a matter of course
- You start new projects with the help of Docker and for you DevOps is a good thing ("You build it, you run it")
