Job summary
As a Senior Manager in adelphi’s Finance programme, your role is to support international financial institutions (IFIs) and commercial banks in primarily low- and middle-income countries in the successful implementation of sustainable finance strategies and programmes. Projects may include the development of climate action strategies, the implementation of credit lines for energy efficiency or renewable energy financing, the management of financing facilities that support clean-tech or biodiversity investments, and consulting on financial tools and products focusing on resource efficiency or circular economy.
Work location is partly remotely or at easily accessible offices in Berlin (preferred), Munich or Madrid.
The position is initially limited to 2 years. If the cooperation is successful, we will have a strong interest to transform it into a permanent position.

Your tasks
- design and implementation of technical assistance programmes for climate finance with international clients
- management of international projects including contract, budget, and deliverable management
- coordination of internal and external teams
- regular exchange with clients such as IFIs and commercial banks
- overall quality assurance and compliance with project terms within your projects
- leading project tenders and acquisitions for the Finance programme
- management and mentorship of own team members

Your qualifications
- Minimum 7 years work experience in consulting or in the financial sector, of which a minimum of 5 years in the sustainable finance field with a strong focus on project management and consulting in low- and middle-income countries
- A university degree (or similar qualification)
- Commitment to and sincere interest in sustainable finance, high motivation to advance national and international sustainable finance agendas in direct collaboration with financial institutions and commercial banks
- Good overview of recent sustainable finance trends and initiatives
- Experience in acquisition, development and implementation of consulting projects
- Strong organizational skills and sense of responsibility
- Experience in the design and implementation of technical assistance / expert support for sustainable credit lines
- Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing trainings
- Willingness to occasionally travel to project countries for short-term stays
- Demonstrated ability to manage various projects at once while still achieving a timely and successful implementation;
- A solution-, client-, and quality-oriented approach to work
- Creative team player with strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as attention to detail
- Experience with leading staff and very good interpersonal skills
- Interest in a long-term collaboration in a dynamically working and growing team
- Excellent oral and written expression in English
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programmes
- Excellent oral and written expression in French or Spanish
- Excellent oral and written expression in German and/or additional foreign language skills (e.g. Portuguese)
