to join our Business Development team (Fulltime) - Berlin


Your working field

From our Berlin HQ, Business Development Managers manage tenders for development projects and technical assistance contracts funded by national and international donors worldwide. In order to strengthen our Business Development team, we are currently hiring one Senior Manager who will report directly to top management.

Your tasks

  • You will be leading the technical and administrative preparation of project proposals, mainly for our German bilateral development cooperation clients such as GIZ and KfW.
  • You are involved in the strategic acquisition, but also in the administrative and partly content-related coordination of applications
  • You build and maintain a network of partners and experts
  • You monitor and evaluate the bidding processes to strategically develop the business development area. Working together as a team, you optimize internal work processes
  • You act as a team leader for the Business Development Team

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • At least 5 years of general professional experience preferably in international project management (call for proposals, grants and/or project management). Experience in the day-to-day management of international tenders is a must;
  • Knowledge of international cooperation funding mechanisms as well as the bidding processes of a range of international cooperation agencies is essential (GIZ as a minimum);
  • Proven experience with proposal preparation for GIZ, including applying GIZ management model Capacity Works
  • Strong communication skills, good team player, together with ability to work independently and efficiently;
  • Coordination, planning and organisation skills;
  • A demonstrated ability with editing and design software will be an added value.
  • Educational background: University Degree, preferably Master’s level in a relevant field of adelphi´s expertise;
  • Fluency in German and English (writing and speaking), French and Spanish is an asset;
