Our Berlin office is seeking a Project Assistant to support our team for a minimum of 12 months.

Project Assistant (m/f/d) (20h/week)

in the field of climate diplomacy (part-time) - Berlin


Your scope of responsibilities:

In the project “Building Back Better: Climate Diplomacy”, adelphi, in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office, is working to promote climate diplomacy in multilateral fora and strengthen international and regional climate security. As a part of this project adelphi hosts the Berlin Climate Security Conference (BCSC), online from 27 September to 8 October 2021, and leverages communications to influence narratives and decision-making related to climate security. As a Project Assistant, you will support the Climate Diplomacy & Security team.

Your tasks

  • Production of social media posts and graphics
  • Drafting engaging articles based on research findings for internal and external platforms
  • Editorial support, such as proofreading English texts and producing blurbs and teasers
  • CMS support and maintenance for BCSC and other project websites
  • Support with webinar logistics and participant management for BCSC
  • Building and maintaining media contacts lists
  • Media monitoring

Your qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors (minimum in the third semester) or Masters programme in politics, communication, or similar and related fields
  • Academic work and studies relating to the environment and climate and/or first experiences working in relevant fields, including communications, journalism or public policy
  • Native-speaker level of English
  • Excellent research, writing and editing skills
  • Strong interest in or experience in online communication, journalism or publishing
  • Structured, precise, independent and flexible approach to work
  • Very good command of Office applications, particularly MS Word and Outlook
  • Good command of/or high motivation to learn and work with graphic design layouts and website content management systems
  • Experience in producing and publishing social media content in a professional context
